Presbyterian Church of Lake Placid

During the weekend of February 3-5, Pack 426 will be going on a camping trip to Camp Brorein. Camp Brorein is located at 16901 Boy Scout Road, Odessa, Florida. If you will not be able to caravan with those going, then please get directions on line. Those caravanning will depart from the Presbyterian Church parking lot at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3rd. The pack will eat 5 meals together. There is over 20 campers from Pack 426 going to Camp Brorein that weekend. Activities scheduled during the campout are rock climbing, repelling, archery and BB Gun. Have Fun!!

This year's Blue & Gold Banquet and Pinewood Derby have been planned for the same night on Friday, February 24. The festivities will start at 6:00 P.M. in the Friendship Hall of the Presbyterian Church..... More to info come.

Gentlemen, start your engines! The 2012 Orange Crate Derby is scheduled for Saturday, March 3. The will run down Main Ave., between Lakeview St. & Heartland Blvd. from 8 A.M. to 12 P.M. Also, in order to get the derby cars in good racing condition, there will be a 'repair day' on Sunday, February 19 at the pack's warehouse............. More info to come.

Some of those going to the campout will also attend Scout Night with the Tampa Bay Lightning at the St. Pete Times Forum! On Saturday, February 4 at 7:00 P.M., the Lightning will be taking on the Florida Panthers.

For the pack meeting on January 30, there will be a representative from the Highlands County Sheriff's Office visiting the pack along with a K-9 Unit.

The annual "Scouting For Food" scout food drive is coming up. On February 13, scouts aren't to meet at the Presbyterian Church for den meetings. Instead, each den will go to different neighborhoods at 6:30 P.M. to go door-to-door and drop off "Scouting For Food" bags. Then at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 18, the dens will report to the neighborhoods to collect the bags of food. Then they will deliver them to the food bank in Sebring by 10:30 A.M. Neighborhoods have been assigned as follows: Webelos - Water's Edge, Bears - Oak Island, Wolves - Sunset Point & Tigers - Meadowlake.
