Climbing/Rappelling Instructor Training

Climbing and rappelling are some of the most exciting activities in a Scout's career! You can make their dream a reality through being trained. Our next training class is Feb. 24 - 26 at Flaming Arrow Scout Reservation. Cost is $35 per person if you provide your own meals or $50 per person if camp provides your meals. Registration begins at 5 p.m. with the first session starting at 7 p.m.

Learn Boy Scout guidelines for all your climbing and rappelling activities. The course will also learn Climb on Safely procedures, which enable you to conduct unit climbing/rappelling events. Learn gear anchoring techniques, belaying, commands and all the ins and outs of this popular sport and hobby. Safety is a critical issue and we'll cover it all. Interested?

The application and payment are due Feb. 17. Checks should be made payable to the Gulf Ridge Council, BSA. A minimum of eight people must register to hold the course. Contact Matt Anderson, email or phone, (813) 872-2691 ext. 117, for more information.
